King Mohammed chairs ministers' council in Dakhla

Morocco's King Mohammed VI, accompanied by his brother Prince Moulay Rachid, chaired Tuesday at the city hall of Dakhla, southern Morocco, a ministers' council.
At the beginning of the council meeting, King Mohammed VI approved a draft law related to medical coverage presented by Prime Minister Abderrahmane Youssoufi, in harmony with the fundamental options in matters of social action, initiated by the king for the consecration of justice and equity and the struggle against poverty, said the official spokesman of the Royal Palace, Hassan Awrid, in a statement.
King Mohammed VI also approved texts related to the elections, in the perspective of holding free, transparent and honest polls.
The minister of the interior made an expos? on the revision of the electoral rolls with a view to update them and correct potential errors. He made another expos? on the proportional list voting system according to the rule of the strongest average survives. The poll shall lead to the election of 295 members at the level of constituencies and 30 members at the national scale.
King Mohammed VI also issued instructions so that the regional investment centers be operational in all the regions of the Kingdom the soonest possible. The king called on the government not to cede investment-destined plots of land at low prices nor to speculators while taking into account in the act to invest the projects that are meticulously studied and that can be materialized within reasonable deadlines.
The king enquired about the situation in the rural world and the prospects of the agricultural season. He called on the government to earmark a State assistance to farmers and urged the government to carry on its policy to encourage and back the rural world, which still suffers from the effects of drought.
The king also enquired about the situation of Moroccan nationals who performed this year's pilgrimage in the Muslim holy shrines in Saudi Arabia.
The ministers' council adopted a package of draft laws and decrees having a general character.
One of the draft laws provides for the setting up of a national office of hydrocarbons and mines, while a draft decree is related to the summoning of an extraordinary session of the two chambers of the Moroccan parliament.
Two other draft decrees provide for an increase of the pensions and family allowances paid by La Caisse Nationale de Securite Sociale.
