Israeli president urges Arafat to oppress the Intifada
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/5/2002
The Israeli President Moshe Kassave has called on the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat to work for oppressing the Palestinian Intifada.
Kassave criticized the European position towards the Israeli policies in the Palestinian territories, claiming that this role encourages what he calls terrorism in the Middle East.
Kassave called on the European states to adopt a role like that of the US, in pressuring the Palestinians because this, as he claimed will contribute to halting the Intifada.
