Sharon and the Saudi initiative
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/5/2002
The Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon said he did not refuse the Saudi initiative because he does not know its precise details. During his Monday's meeting for the Israeli security and foreign affairs committee, Sharon added that this initiative came to replace UN resolutions 242 and 383 so as Israel will not be able, according to it, to install buffer zones around the Palestinian areas.
