Libya-Regional, Politics, 3/4/2002

Al-Qaddafi on Saturday evening in a speech he made in Sert on the 25th anniversary of declaring the Libyan republic launched a strong criticism against the Arabs and described them as decent and cowards, saying that the inside "of earth is better for them ( the Arabs) than its surface," by which he was wishing the death of the Arabs.

Al-Qaddafi also criticized the Arab League and considered it as a shame for the Arabs. He called on the Libyan people's congresses to study Libya's pullout from the Arab League.

He indicated that peace today is based on the atomic weapons from which the Arabs are deprived to obtain. He expressed his ultimate anger on the current Arab condition said that the Arabs have nothing "but to cry the same they did for Muhammad al-Durra " ( the Palestinian 12- year old child who was seen killed in a cold blood by the Israeli forces.

The Libyan leader also criticized Saudi Arabia for debating a peace initiative for the Middle East question. He expressed his wonder over debating this initiative. He said " Saudi Arabia should not have made itself dirty"

Worthy mentioning that al-Qaddafi had debated in close- door meetings during Amman's summit in March 2001 the Arab League member states to recognize Israel for the return back of the Palestinian refugees and to compensate them, to solve the problem of Jerusalem and to eliminate mass destruction weapons in the countries of the region.
