Israel's Sarid: Palestinian resistance continues as long as occupation persists
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 3/4/2002
Member of the Israeli Knesset for the Mertiz movement Yusi Sarid has admitted that so long as occupation continued, the Palestinian resistance and operations against this occupation will continue and therefore efforts should be made to put an end to Israel's occupation of the Palestinian territories.
In an interview with the Israeli radio on Sunday, Sarid said there are no people in the world who accept the rule of strangers. He added that drawing plans to bring in more force against the Palestinians will not change the condition Israel has reached regarding the security aspect.
For his part, member of the Israeli Knesset in the Labor party Haem Ramon said that the Israeli government is heading towards a strategic decision which has been in reality translated into reoccupying the Palestinian territories.
Ramon claimed that installing a separation line between the Palestinian area and the Israeli settlements will result in reducing the operations carried out by the Palestinians.
