Morocco's carrier gets its second Boeing 767ER
Morocco, Business, 2/28/2002
The Moroccan carrier Royal Air Maroc (RAM) Wednesday took delivery of its second Boeing 767-300ER (extended-range) twin-aisle airplane.
The B767s will start servicing North America as of next May, with four weekly flights towards the USA and two weekly ones towards Canada. The flights will be increased next July to six weekly ones towards New York and four towards Montreal, pending the servicing of daily flights part of a code sharing with the US Delta airlines.
The first Boeing 767-300ER was delivered to RAM last January.
The purchase of the two aircrafts is part of the company's modernization plan and the restructuring of its Middle East and North America networks.
Boeing and RAM have had a business relationship since 1970, when RAM took delivery of a 727-200. The carrier currently operates a fleet of 31 Boeing airplanes.
