US praises Saudi idea on peace
Saudi Arabia-USA, Politics, 2/27/2002

US President Bush called Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah yesterday to praise the Crown Prince's ideas regarding full Arab-Israeli normalization once a comprehensive peace agreement can be achieved, White House Spokesman Ari Fleischer said in Washington February 26.

Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Abdullah's policy adviser Adel al-Jubeir said the proposal was a vision and that "It's really up to Israel, the Palestinians, Lebanon and Syria to negotiate, because it's their land ...The idea is to send a signal to the Israeli public that peace is possible," The L.A. Times reported today.

"To have Arab nations weighing in now with additional thoughts that are reflective of the will of the region to create peace is a helpful part of the process," Fleischer said.
