Volume of trade between Egypt and US is 4 billion dollars

US ambassador in Cairo David Welch said President Mubarak's visit to the United States is given wider interest on the part of US President George Bush and State Department officials as it comes amidst difficult conditions through which the Arab nation is passing.
He said the US highly appreciates the Egyptian leading and positive role and President Mubarak's wisdom for encouraging Israelis and Palestinians to find practical and just solutions to their problems.
He referred to sustained consultations between President Mubarak and the US administration, underlining the need for sustaining war against terrorism and expanding relations between Egypt and the United States in political and economic fields.
He said the volume of trade exchange between the two countries is valued at 4 billion dollars adding the US is the second biggest investor in Egypt.
