Arab states tourism revenues are 8.2% of world total

A recent report by the Egyptian federation of the chambers of tourism has stressed the need of drawing an executive strategy to support inter- Arab tourism and strengthen inter- Arab movement as well as forming a joint Arab insurance company for tourism or setting up an emergency fund for tourism only specialized in insurance.
The report indicated that there is an urgent need at the meantime for the joint Arab work to solve the increased insurance costs on transports to the Arab region.
The report stressed the need of maintaining cooperation at highest level among the Arab states in the area of negotiation on defining tourism services so as to make utmost benefits of the Arab potentials and having a "negotiation strength" for the Arab states at international negotiations, noting that this matter has proved effectiveness at the world tourism organization where the weight of the Arab states has been increased as a result.
The report explained that the inter- Arab tourism movement among the Arab states reached 43% of the total volume of Arab tourism as a whole, while the volume of inter- Arab trade among the Arab states represents only 9% and despite that the share of the Arab states from the world tourism movement does not exceed 8.2%.
