Morocco's premier to attend international conference on development financing
Morocco, Local, 2/26/2002

Moroccan Prime Minister, Abderrahmane Youssoufi, has been invited to participate in the UN International Conference on Development Financing to be held in the northern Mexican city of Monterrey next March 18-22.

The invitation from Mexican president, Vicente Fox, was extended to Youssoufi Monday by the conference coordinator, Ariel Buera, who is currently visiting Morocco, reported the Moroccan TV channel, TVM.

The conference, to be attended by some 40 heads of state and government, will probe means to enhance development financing through the mobilization of national and foreign resources, Youssoufi told the TV channel.

The conference will debate other topics related to investment, financial assistance and indebtedness, in addition to the promotion of foreign trade, Youssoufi said, adding that Morocco is most concerned by this issue and wants to open up foreign markets to its products and goods.
