French national sentenced to 30 months in prison for drug trafficking

The first instance court of Marrakesh has recently sentenced a French national to 30 months in prison and a 4,000 DH-fine for drug trafficking.
Gilbert Jean-Rene was also asked to pay 5,000 DH to the Moroccan tobacco office. He was arrested in an old district of Marrakesh as he was trying to sell chira (cannabis extract).
Another quantity of the banned substance was found in the man's luggage deposited in the lockers of the city's bus station.
