Anjoine leader nominates himself for presidency

Colonel Muhammad Bakkar, the authority leader in Anjoine has announced he nominates himself for the post of President of the island in the elections to be held on March 31st, just one month before the presidential elections of the federation of Comoros.
Reports quoted Bakkar as saying in a celebration held on the occasion of Eid al-Adha that he intends to remain a candidate for all the people of Anjoine.
On Friday, other five candidates in Anjoine announced in an open message that the possible nomination of the colonel is not acceptable in case the latter will not resign from the two posts of being a leader of authority in Anjoine and the commander of its armed forces.
Bakkar arrived into power in Anjoine on August 9, 2001 in a military coupe that toppled Lt. Col. Saeed Obeid Abdul Rahman.
Bakkar on February 10th was announced an honorary President and a candidate for the people's movement in Anjoine, one of the active separatist movement in the island.
