Swiss relief worker killed in Somalia

Unidentified gunmen have shot to death a Swiss woman working for a relief agency in her house in Somalia.

Gunmen broke into the house of the lady whose identity was not disclosed immediately in the coastal city of Meirka on late Friday evening and fired at her 14 bullets.

The woman ( 60 years old) has been living for many years in the coastal city of Meirka situated 90 Km to the south of the capital Makadishu where she was presiding over a small charity society and ran a school includes 100 students of both sexes and a clinic.

The reasons behind the killing has not known yet but speculations say that the woman might be killed by the war lords who oppose the provisional government in Somalia which control the city and that the killing coincides with the visit of officials from the US and the UN to Meika city, People of the city says that rumors said that a teacher fired from the school run by the charity society had conducted the killing operation. SANA.
