EU consider 120 million euros for Palestinian economic aid

The European Union MED Committee will meet on 27 February in Brussels to give an opinion on further direct budgetary assistance to the Palestinian Authority.
The amount proposed is (euros) 120 million over 12 months. The assistance would be paid out in three stages, from March 2002 to February 2003.
The EU has already been providing the Palestinian Authority with a monthly assistance of (euros) 10 million since November 2000 for budgetary support.
