King Mohammed congratulates Islamic heads of state on Aid al-Adha
Morocco-Regional, Religion, 2/22/2002

Morocco's King Mohammed VI, Amir Al-Mouminine (commander of the faithful) sent kings, presidents and emirs of Islamic countries a message of congratulations on aid Al-Adha (immolation feast).

As the Islamic and Arab world is marking Aid Al-Adha, I am seizing this opportunity to express to you my warmest congratulations and best wishes of health and happiness for yourself and of further progress and prosperity for your people, under your wise leadership, the sovereign said.

The sovereign also wrote "while the Islamic nation is facing today more than ever before great challenges, we share the conviction that it will not be able to face them unless constructive action is undertaken to develop the Islamic Ummah's capacities and to consolidate earnest solidarity and exemplary cooperation among its states and peoples, keeping in mind constantly the Islamic permanent values that call for unification of ranks and concretizing in reality virtues of mutual help, tolerance, co-existence and establishment of peace and understanding among all the peoples."

The sovereign's message which hails privileged relations that bind Morocco to Muslim countries renews Morocco's constant support to the struggle of the Palestinian people, under the leadership of President Yasser Arafat, to recover its rights and establish an independent state with Al-Quds asharif as a capital.
