Sharon must stop military attacks on Palestinians

Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak told Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Thursday that Israel must stop the military operations against palestinians and that acts of revenge between Palestinians and Israelis had to come to an end.
Mubarak also told Sharon, who telephoned him this morning, that ending the violence was necessary to start serious action and to return to the right track towards a peaceful solution that is based on international legitimacy, achieve a just peace, safeguard the full rights of the two sides and protect the security and stability of the Middle East.
They also examined the grave and deteriorating situation, the escalation of the cycle of violence and counter-violence between Palestinians and Israelis and contacts between officials on both sides.
The Egyptian television said Mubarak and Sharon further exchanged existing viewpoints on ways to put an end to the deteriorating conditions and move towards a solution to the Palestinian issue.
