Mubarak expresses deep regret offers condolences to families of victims

In the worst humane disaster in Egypt, some 370 passengers were killed late Tuesday night when fire caught seven third-class coaches of Upper Egypt train, near kafr Ammar village in Ayyat. Victims were on their way to pass Corban Bairam vacation with their families in Upper Egypt governorates.
Providence was behind the safety of the passengers of the nine front coaches. Scores of wounded were rushed to six hospitals.
The incident took place when a stove went off at one of the back coaches.
The incident was complicated by the heavy wind and the high speed of the train.
The train driver learnt of the incident only nine kilometers after fire caught the train.
President Mubarak followed up the incident from the very beginning and ordered an investigation into the reasons behind the tragic incident.
President Mubarak also made contacts with state senior officials for following up the volume of the incident and ordered provision of all potentials for the treatment of the injured.
President Mubarak expressed his regret for the victims of this tragic incident and offered condolences to the families of Victims.
