Arab League prepare foreign ministerial council's agenda

Permanent envoys to the Arab League held on Tuesday a consultative meeting to prepare a draft agenda for the 117th session of the Arab league's foreign ministerial council scheduled to be held on March 9-10.
Arab league secretary general Amr Moussa who chaired the session told reporters the permanent delegates prepared a draft to be submitted to the foreign ministers. The 31-item agenda deals with various issues related to the Arab joint action, said Moussa.
He said the items are topped by the developments of the Palestinian cause including the uprising, Al-Quds, refugees, settlements, the Syrian Golan heights, solidarity with Lebanon, activating the Arab boycott of Israel and the biannual report on activities of the Arab boycott bureau in Damascus in addition to activation of legislation related to the boycott.
The agenda also includes preparations for the upcoming Arab summit in Beirut, which will examine several topics such as the situation in the Palestinian occupied territories, the Lockerbie case and ideas mentioned in the statement of Libyan president Muammar Al-Gadafi during Amman's summit.
Dangers of Israeli nuclear weapon and of Israeli mass destruction weapons on Arab security and making the middle east area free of mass destruction weapons will be also included in the agenda, added the Arab League secretary general.
He went on that the agenda will also discuss the dangers of Turkish-Israeli military cooperation on the security and stability in the middle east area.
