Syrian First Lady discusses cooperation in handicrafts industries with Italian minister

In the framework of the official visit Syrian President Bashar al-Assad is holding to Rome, Syria's First Lady Asmaa al-Assad on Wednesday met with Italian ministers accompanied by minister of culture Najwa Qassab Hassan and the advisor for the foreign minister Butheina Shabaan.
The two sides discussed fields of cooperation between women in the two countries, in general with concentration on artisans industries, especially as Syria is known since ancient times for this industry.
Mrs al-Assad gave a briefing on the condition of the Syrian woman and her involvement in all fields through legislation and laws which guarantee the rights of women socially, economically and politically especially the privileges offered by the late President Hafez al- Assad.
