Seventeen Palestinians killed in Israeli aggression at cities of West Bank, Gaza

Some 17 Palestinians were killed on Wednesday in several cities and villages in the West Bank and Gaza, during air, land and sea and violent battles that took place between Palestinians and the Israeli forces which once again broke into the cities of Ramullah, Nablus and Khan Younis.

Palestinian security sources said that five members of the Palestinian police were shot to the east of Nablus during confrontations with the Israeli tanks positioned at the frontier of the city which was exposed to an intensive Israeli bombardment resulted in killing other three Palestinians.

Other security sources said that other five members of the Palestinian security were murdered and other six wounded in a violent attack by the Israeli forces in which F-16 and Apache planes took part. The bombardment targeted the Palestinian security headquarters in Gaza and this also resulted also in destroying several houses and the main electricity supplier station led to cutting electricity current from the city of Khan Younis and a refugee camp inside it. The Israeli bombardment also resulted in destroying houses and offices that belong the UN and foreign staff.

The sources added that al-Maghazi refugees camp was also exposed to the bombardment of the Israeli Apache planes in order to cover the advancing of the Israeli tanks which incurred for more than two kilometers into the camp. The Israeli bombardment resulted in wounding one Palestinian and destruction of several houses. The Israeli forces occupied Wadi al-Saqa village to the south of Gaza and carried out operations of inspections and demolishing for tens of houses.

The Israeli tanks also incurred in Ramullah through three axes and opened fire at control points for the Palestinian Authority. An Israeli helicopter fired a missile at the complex of Yasser Arafat. The brutal Israeli bombardment coincided with a vast campaign of detention in the lines of the Palestinians and the campaign targeted 20 citizens in various areas that belong to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank upon breaking into these areas and imposing curfew on them. The Israeli forces also arrested 13 Palestinian from the villages in the areas of al-Khalil, Bethlehem and Ramullah.

Meantime, the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon threatened to expand the circle of war against the Palestinians. He admitted, simultaneously that Israel is facing under the current conditions in the Palestinian territories a very complex condition but he indicated he will deal with this situation strongly.

Political sources at Sharon's divan stressed that the attacks of the Israeli army against the Palestinians in the coming days will be stronger and more violent and that military strikes will target all Palestinians wherever they did exist and that land, air and sea military operations will be conducted altogether.
