A train fire killed over 300 passengers in Egypt
Egypt, Local, 2/20/2002
A train fire killed over 300 passengers this Wednesday morning in Egypt.
Middle East News Agency said the cause of the fire was a burst gas cylinder used for cooking in the dining car. Many of the passengers were going to their home villages for Eid al-Adha, or the "Feast of the Sacrifice," a four-day holiday that starts Friday.
The holiday commemorating God's provision of a ram to substitute for the son Abraham is one of the most important Islamic feasts.
