Saudi Arabia: Our curricula does not provoke terrorism
Saudi Arabia, Politics, 2/20/2002

The Saudi minister of al-Awqaf ( Islamic Trust) Sheikh Saleh Bin Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh has condemned the "repressive writings" which held the educational system in Saudi Arabia responsible for the emergence of "terrorist" groups, considering this phenomenon resulting from "wrong understanding of certain texts and for the feelings of Muslims, especially in Palestine."

He added in press statements that the Saudi educational curricula are balanced and fully explain the rightful Islamic faith away from exaggeration and deviation.

US officials have expressed concern and criticism about some Islamic curriculum, and have accused Saudi Arabia of supporting such curriculum in Pakistan where it has been criticised for being a breeding ground for anti Americanism.
