An Israeli Arab party
Regional-Israel, Politics, 2/20/2002
The Kuwaiti daily al-Seyasah said in its Tuesday's issue, according to western diplomatic circles in the Jordanian capital Amman that there is an inclination in certain Israeli forces which support the peace process to found an Israeli party in the Arab states, similar to the Arab parties in Israel.
The paper added that the nuclear for the move to found these parties will stem from countries which signed peace agreements with Israel and these parties will be led by Arab leaderships from these countries and from the Copenhagen group which adopted the policy of normalization with Israel.
The Jordanian paper said that this perception aims at improving the image of Israel in the Arab and Islamic world and to side with peace ideas against violence and extremism in the region, noting that Israel has allotted a sum of USD 30 million in support of the efforts made by certain Arab leaderships to founding this party and allotted millions of dollars in prepare for the secret meetings for the advocates of this party abroad.
