US trade secretary to visit Morocco with trade mission
Morocco-USA, Economics, 2/19/2002

The US trade secretary will be visiting Morocco before end of the year while a US economic mission will come to Morocco next June to identify business opportunities in goods and services in the kingdom.

The announcement was made on Monday in Casablanca by US assistant trade secretary, Maria Cino, who was dedicating the new offices of the American chamber of commerce.

She said the delegation, comprising representatives of some 20 US companies, will come to identify business opportunities in the kingdom, "a great and diversified country offering important opportunities to consolidate bilateral economic relations."

She also explained that the US administration is working to promote the economies of Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria in the prospect of concluding free trade agreements with the region.

The US official then attended a conference between the American Chamber in Morocco and those in Algeria and Tunisia.
