Arab follow up committee meets today

The 10 states members at the Arab follow up committee of the recent Arab Summit holds a meeting today at the level of its representatives at the Arab league to discuss the draft report which will be submitted to Beirut's summit.

Palestine's representative at the Arab league Muhammad Sabeih said that the general attitude is that the formula of the committee to continue to have representatives for Egypt, Palestine, lebanon, Jordan, Syria, the presidency of the Arab Maghreb federation, the Gulf co-operation council, the Jerusalem committee and the Arab state member at the UN security council.

Meantime, an Arab diplomatic source said that the view point of certain Arab states to formulate an Arab Troika committee- in line with the European Troika delegation - including representatives from the current presidency of the Arab summit, the former presidency and the later one, besides representatives from countries concerned with debated issues like Somalia and Comoros and other political and economic issues. The source did not define names of countries supporting the Troika.

At the meantime, the committee includes representatives from Egypt, Palestine, Lebanon, Jordan, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Yemen, Morocco, and Tunisia.

Worthy mentioning the foreign ministers of the committee will on March 9th discuss the draft report to be reached by today's meeting.
