Jordanian foreign minister confers with Russian ME envoy

The Jordanian foreign minister Marwan al-Maashar on Sunday in Amman discussed with the Russian ME special envoy Andre Vidovin conditions in the region especially on the Palestinian arena.
Following the meeting, al-Maashar said in statements to the press that his talks with the Russian envoy aimed at eliminating the current crisis and returning things to its right track so as to prepare for resuming negotiations between the Palestinian and Israeli sides.
The Jordanian minister described the meeting as fruitful and expressing the Russian interest in the Palestinian question and following up its overall development.
For his part, Vidovin expressed his regret over the deteriorated conditions in the Middle East. He stressed the need of exerting all possible efforts by all sides concerned to halt deterioration and the increasing escalation as well as to return back to the table of negotiations.
