Al-Assad, Mubarak to meet very soon, paper says

The Lebanese daily al-Mustaqbal said in its Sunday's issue that Syria's President Bashar al-Assad will be meeting with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt very soon in order to hold consultations on developments of conditions in the Palestinian territories and the international initiatives debated to revive the Middle East peace process.
The paper quoted a well-informed source in Cairo as saying that the Syrian- Egyptian summit will be held in Cairo or at the Egyptian Sharm el-Sheikh resort.
The source added that al-Assad and Mubarak will discuss also the file of the Iraqi crisis in light of the initiative debated by the Iraqi President Saddam Hussein to the Secretary general of the Arab League Amr Moussa where Moussa did not receive a response from Kuwait, and will deal with possibilities of the US striking of Iraq.
The source explained that the Syrian- Egyptian summit will concentrate on discussing matters to be submitted during the Arab summit to be held in Beirut and means of guaranteeing achieving a result that complies with the Arab ambitions. The two presidents, the source added will also deal with bilateral relations which have been given a push forward following the visit made last week by the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro to Cairo.
