Saudi Arabia to reopen its embassy in Kabul

The Saudi daily Okaz issued on Sunday said that an official Saudi delegation will have headed on Sunday for Kabul to reopen the Saudi embassy there.
The paper explained that the Saudi ambassador to Pakistan was due to have headed on Sunday to Kabul on top of a Saudi delegation for this purpose and will be meeting with the chief of the provisional Afghani government Hameed Karazai, the foreign minister Abdullah Abdullah and will also discuss with the Afghani minister of the Interior Younis Qanouni security measures to be taken by his embassy towards the Saudi embassy.
Worthy mentioning that Saudi Arabia has announced freezing of its relations with Taliban regime in 1998 and also severed all relations with the movement in September 2001 following the attacks at Washington and New York.
Worthy mentioning that al-Riyadh vowed during the conference to re-build Afghanistan which was held in Tokyo in January to offer USD 200 millions for this purpose.
