Mrs. Mubarak probes national plan for education

Egypt's First Lady Suzanne Mubarak will head the technical consultative committee of National Council for Childhood and Motherhood to probe the steps of setting up a national plan for education of girls which will be applied in Giza, then in seven governorates, as a first stage.

The meeting is organized by the Council in cooperation with United Nations Organizations and will be attended by Ministers of Education, Finance, Planning, Governors of the seven governorates, and members of the national group which represents the government and Non-Government Organizations (NGOs).

Meanwhile, the council's Secretary-General Moshira Khattab pointed out to Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak initiative to put the issue in the focus, to organize the first forum, the meetings then the workshop concerned with it.

Moreover, Mrs. Mubarak will inspect the exhibition of winning paintings in the children competition organized by the council.

On the other hand, Mrs. Mubarak will inaugurate the women 3rd Conference in Menya on March 16th which coincides with celebrations marking Egyptian Woman Day.

Meanwhile, National Council for Women Secretary-General Farkhonda Hassan said that Mrs. Mubarak requested that the conference be held in one of Upper Egypt governorates.

She added that the conference will be held under the title "Women Role in Modernizing the Egyptian Society" and that the council will participate as a constitutional part to discuss women role in modernizing Egypt through the programs of development of women.
