Arab governments called to unify against Zionists
Regional-Israel, Politics, 2/16/2002
The central committee of the International Confederation of Arab Trade Unions, convened here on Friday, called Arab governments to unify their ranks against "the Zionist policy."
The Committee, which held a special session on the situation in the Palestinian territories, urged Arab governments to overcome what it called their "secondary differences" and adopt a unified position against "the Zionist policy."
The committee also called for extending stronger backing to the Palestinian cause and f"or encouraging the actions led by trade unions and professional and popular organizations against the Zionist occupier."
It equally urged Arab states to reject any normalization with "the Zionist entity" (Israel). A fair and global peace in the region can be achieved only after a full Israeli withdrawal from the Arab territories it occupies in Palestine, Syria and Lebanon and after the recovery by the Palestinian people of all their legitimate rights, the committee said.
