World leading plastic industry group opens unit in Morocco

Basell-Polyvolefins, a world leading group in plastic industry has opened a unit in the Moroccan city of Casablanca.
The group officials told the press on Friday the new facility will seize the possibilities that Morocco opens for plastic industry.
They deplored that existing facilities in Morocco do not produce items with a value added and noted that plastic consumption in Morocco is still low at 9 kg per inhabitant per year against 17 kg in Tunisia and 82 kg in France.
The Basell-Polyvolefins produces 5.7 million tons of plastic products annually and employs 7,800 people. The group sells its products in more than 120 countries and operates units in 26 countries in the five continents.
