US spokesman and Syria's oil deals

A spokesman for the US state department on Friday denied what was stated by the Washington Post daily on Thursday that the US administration has had a blind eye on an oil deal Iraq has recently made with Syria with the aim to encourage Damascus to cooperate with the international campaign to fighting terrorism.
The spokesman said that the American administration debated this matter with Syrian officials, especially as Syria has become a member at the UN security council.
