IGAD to convene a reconciliation conference on Somalia

The foreign ministers of seven states in East Africa meeting on Friday in Kenya announced that a reconciliation conference on Somalia will be held in the second half of April in Nairobi.

News reports said that a statement for the council of ministers of IGAD explained that the conference will include the Somali provisional national government and all other Somali factions in the country.

Worthy mentioning that the provisional government which was formed in 2000 only controls certain parts of the Somali capital Makadishu.
