Israel demolishes tens of Palestinian houses, prevents ambulances access to hospitals
Palestine-Israel, Politics, 2/15/2002
The Israeli forces stopped an ambulance for the ICRC at a barrier near Qalqilya carrying Palestinian patients in critical health conditions to one of the hospitals.
The soldiers stopped the ambulance for more than 4 hours and arrested one of its medical teams and took him to an investigation center.
Meantime, the Israeli forces demolished tens of Palestinian houses and leveled vast areas of the lands during its breaking in operations into Beit hanoun, Beit Lahia and Deir al-Balah in Gaza.
An Israeli military source admitted the failure of the Israeli army to developing its fighting plans against the Palestinians in regard to chasing the resistance men despite the repeated breaking in operations of the Palestinian areas.
The Israeli radio quoted this source as saying that the recent Israeli breaking in of Gaza were a failure and that what was stated by the Israeli media on finding factories or workshop to manufacture al-Qassam missiles or arresting Intifada activists is not correct, noting that all the Israeli army had done was the destruction of houses and leveling of farms and arresting Palestinian youths who are not necessarily wanted by the Israeli security.
The Israeli source said that the human and material losses inflicted on the Israeli army during the breaking in operation exceed the Palestinian losses in most of the times.
On the other hand, one Palestinian on Thursday morning knifed an Israeli soldier at one of the Israeli military barriers in the West Bank.
The Israeli radio said that members of the Israeli barriers immediately opened fire at the Palestinian and arrested him. The Palestinian was not identified.
