Syrian- Iranian relations on developing cooperation relations

A round of discussions was held on Thursday at the headquarters of the Syrian Cabinet between the Syrian and Iranian side led by the Syrian prime minister Muhammad Mustafa Miro and his Iranian counterpart Muhammad Rida Aref.
On the Syrian side, the meeting was attended by the deputy premier for services Naji al-Otari, the deputy premier for economic affairs Muhammad al-Hussein, the minister of electricity Muneeb Saem al-Daher, the information minister Adnan Omran, the industry minister Issam al-Zaem, the ministers of transport, finance, economy and foreign trade, oil and mineral resources and the minister of housing and the Syrian ambassador in Tehran.
On the Iranian side, the meeting was attended by the ministers of housing, commerce, finance and the economy and several Iranian deputies of ministers and consultants.
The two sides reviewed the march of cooperation between the two countries in various economic, trade, financial, scientific, technical and cultural fields and the exchange of experts and encouraging investments and joint projects besides the fields of agriculture, industry, oil, electricity, transport and telecom.
The two sides also discussed means of developing relations between the two countries in various fields and they reviewed agreements signed between the two countries and means of eliminating certain impediments hindering work progress and obstacles stand against the realization of set objectives.
It was agreed to assign ministers concerned in the two countries to follow up studying these agreements and deal with debated issues with the aim of eliminating obstacles and finding out appropriate solutions.
In a separate meeting Miro and Aref discussed bilateral relations between the two countries and means of developing them in all fields especially in the economic area.
A similar meeting was also held between the Iranian vice President and the Syrian vice President Abdul halim Khaddam attended by high ranking officials representing the two sides.
On Thursday morning, the Iranian vice President visited the shrine of al-Sayedah Zeinab in Damascus and performed prayers at the shrine's courtyard.
