Israeli forces occupy Palestinian villages, camps, five Palestinians killed

The Israeli forces on Wednesday incurred into Wadi al-Salqa village in Khan Younis and demolished a position for the Palestinian security forces and confiscated a house which was converted into a military barrack, while another Israeli force was incurring in al-Maghazi camp area under heavy artillery and missiles bombardment in Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia to the north of Gaza, carried out by tens of Israeli tanks and then the incursion extended to Deir al-balah and then the Israeli forces declared it had controlled Deir al-Balah and Beit Hanoun and beit Lahia towns and cordoned and isolated them completely.

Brig Israel Zeif, the commander of the Israeli invading forces in Gaza said the Israeli army will continue its operation in the Palestinian cities and will expand the scale of these operations to cover all Palestinian areas.

Meantime, a security source in the government of Ariel Sharon said that the aim of the Israeli breaking in and isolation is to end the Intifada and to push the Palestinian Authority to take tough measures against the activists of Hamas and the Islamic Jihad movements.

To this end, the Israeli forces reinforced its presence in the surrounding of Nablus, Toulkarem, Jenin, Qalqilya in the West Bank and installed military barriers to tighten its siege of these Palestinian areas and to isolate them from each other.

News reports said that five Palestinians were shot by the Israeli bullets during the confrontations which followed the Israeli breaking in acts in Gaza and that tens were wounded by the Israeli shells and the Israeli invading forces. Scores of houses were destroyed in Deir al-Balah and Beit hanoun and Beit Lahia which has become under the Israeli curfew and military siege.

The five shot Palestinians are Salem Mousa Abu Shenar from Beit lahia and Shari al-Hasanat, Abdul Halim al-Hasanat, Khaled Abu Sitta from Dier al-Balah and Amjad Hamad from Beit Hanoun.

The commander of the Palestinian security forces in Gaza Maj. Gen. Abdul Razzaq al-Majeyda said that the Israeli forces occupied Deir al-Balah, Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia and that the Palestinians strongly defended their rights, life and lands and challenged the invading forces by all means they have.

Meantime, the UN human rights commissioner Mary Robinson has stressed that she is following with great concern the deteriorated conditions of human rights in the occupied territories and called for honoring these rights, according to international norms.

For his part, member of the Israeli Knesset Ran Cohen of the Israeli Merits movement called on the withdrawal of the Israeli army and settlers from Gaza and most of the West Bank territories. He said that the military solution did not have a result and there is no alternative from the withdrawal from the Palestinian territories.
