Syria - Oman tourism cooperation signed

Oman's deputy prime minister for the cabinet affairs Fahd Bin Mahmoud al-Saeed on Wednesday received the Syrian minister of tourism Saad Allah Agha al-Qalaa who handed him a written message addressed from President Bashar al-Assad to Sultan Qabous Bin Saeed of Oman.
Following full discussions, the two sides signed a memorandum on tourism cooperation between Syria and Oman, cosigned by al-Qalaa and his Omani counterpart Maqboul Bin Ali Sultan.
The memorandum states to encourage joint cooperation in the area of tourism promotion and investment through supporting cooperation between tourism establishments between the two states and preparing joint programs and exchanging tourism groups and information, legislation and regulations relating to various tourism areas.
The memorandum also states coordination of stances towards participation in various international fairs and increasing number of air flights between the two states.
The signing of the memorandum of understanding came at the beginning of the activities of the Syrian cultural tourism week which will start today evening.
Al-Qalaa arrived on Wednesday at dawn in Muscat in an official visit which will last for five days.
