On the Jordanian parliamentary elections
Jordan, Politics, 2/14/2002

The Jordanian minister of state for political affairs and the minister of information Muhammad al-Adwan has expected parliamentary elections in Jordan to take place at the most in September and October this year.

In press statement he made on Wednesday, the Jordanian minister said that 2.1 million Jordanian citizens have so far received their personal elections cards which authorize them to take part in the elections.

The Jordanian minister added that this figure represents 85% of the Jordanian population eligible to vote.

Al-Adwan indicated that the end of February is the expiration date for issuing the personal election cards, and after 70 days elections measures will start.
