Arafat telephones Mubarak

Chairman of the Palestinian Authority Yasser Arafat on Wednesday made a telephone call with President Hosni Mubarak of Egypt. Arafat's advisor Nabil Abu Rudinah said in a press statement on Wednesday that discussions dealt with the conditions in the Palestinian territories and the efforts made to safeguard the negotiations between the Palestinian Authority and Israel.
On the other hand, Abu Rudinah said that Arafat met in Ramullah, in the West Bank with the UN envoy Terry Larsen and discussed with him the grave conditions in the Palestinian territories as a result of the Israeli military escalation, especially recent developments in Gaza.
