West's credibility in Middle East hinges on impartiality
Egypt-Regional, Politics, 2/13/2002
President Mubarak's Political Advisor Osama AL Baz call on the Western countries to exert further efforts to correct their understanding of Islam.
Baz, during a conference on Western policies towards Islamic world in Britain, said the Western credibility in the Middle East hinges on averting double standard policy and working to achieve just settlement to the Palestinian question.
The west would understand the Islamic mentality, he said, noting that Islam unlike other religions, has no super authority.
Baz also called for differentiating between terrorism and national resistance.
As to the ongoing war in Afghanistan Baz said the international media did not centre on the Arab and Islamic support for the American move.
