Int'l antiquities conference to open at the Opera House

The Egyptian Minister of Culture Farouk Hosni will open on Saturday the International Conference for the Restoration of Islamic Antiquities.
The one-week conference, to be held at the Cairo Opera House is organised by the Supreme Council of Antiquities under the auspices of UNESCO.
A number of international experts are due to participate.
The conference will address a number of technical papers on restoring the Islamic antiquities of Old Cairo as well as reviewing restoration works that are currently underway in Egypt.
Touring around workshops and field visits to Old Cairo will also be organised, giving conferees a chance to see for themselves what Egypt has already achieved in this field.
