American-Arab anti-discrimination committee meets FBI director

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC) and other Arab-American and Muslim leaders met on Tuesday with FBI Director Robert S.Mueller III, says the ADC in a statement.
Mueller thanked the ADC for its contributions to civil rights training course given to FBI special agents and supervisors at the FBI training academy in Quantico, VA.
The Director also briefed them on the criminal investigation against the Jewish Defense League (JDL) and the case of Alex Odeh, the ADC West Regional Director who was murdered in a 1985 bombing of his office.
Other issues addressed during the hour-long meeting included the developments concerning the September 11 criminal investigation, and civil liberties concerns including the recent Department of Justice initiative to criminally pursue 6,000 Arab men wanted for deportation.
The ADC president provided director Mueller with a list of over 1,700 incidents against the Muslim community since last September 11.
Other organizations represented during the meeting included the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the American Muslim Council, the Muslim Public Affairs Council, the Islamic Institute, the Arab American Institute, and a Sikh organization representative.
