Bahrain's preparations to declare monarchy and parliamentary elections

Amid expectations of large scale political changes expected to take place in Bahrain during the coming phase following the first anniversary to approve the national labor charter which will be next Thursday, well-informed sources said in press statements that within days the new constitutional amendments will be declared and the amended constitution of Bahrain will be released.

Bahraini circles expect a speech to be delivered by the ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa to his people on this occasion. It is expected that during this speech, the ruler of Bahrain will declare a complete perspective to the coming steps including defining a date for declaring the monarchy in Bahrain, making the municipal and parliamentary elections, besides the possibility of a comprehensive ministerial reshuffle.

The sources indicated that Bahrain might witness all these incidents during this year and two years ahead from the maximum time set by the ruler of Bahrain to complete the constitutional establishments and the new form of the state which is the year 2004.

Worthy mentioning that the ruler of Bahrain announced last week that the amended constitution will be released very soon so as to regulate the constitutional life and to complete its new establishments, the foundation of the Kingdom of Bahrain and the return back of the parliamentary life.
