Morocco, China call for preserving African states' territorial integrity

Morocco and China have called the international community to shoulder its responsibility and enable Africa secure its independence, sovereignty and the territorial integrity of its states.

The two countries stressed, in a joint communique, released at the end of the state visit King Mohammed VI paid to China February 4-10, the need to help African states succeed in their drives to promote development and progress in a bid to consolidate security, stability and peace in the continent.

Morocco and China, which deem aspiration to peace, stability and development one of the African continent's priorities, voice worry over the various challenges facing the continent, mainly indebtedness and regional conflicts.

The two sides voice appreciation for the relations of friendship and cooperation existing between China and Africa and the mechanisms of the Chinese-African cooperation forum and pledge to endeavor to establish a new partnership between China and Africa, based on equality and mutual interests.

Morocco and China voiced worry over the negative incidence of globalization on developing countries, urging the developed world to help developing countries improve their development capacities and reduce the existing economic gaps and calling developing countries to foster their solidarity and to preserve their rights and interests.
