Cheney telephones Saudi crown prince

Saudi Arabia, whose crown prince Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz received on Sunday morning a telephone call from the US vice President Dick Cheney said on Sunday it might send a delegation to the US- Guantanamo camps to investigate with the Saudi prisoners held there.
Simultaneously, sources said that al-Riyadh started a vast public relations campaign to confirm its solid relations with Washington which briefed it with the results of the visit of the Israeli prime minister Ariel Sharon to the US and the American efforts to halt "violence."
The Saudi news agency said that the Saudi crown prince on Saturday received a telephone call from Cheny and the two discussed the regional and international conditions.
The agency explained that the telephone call which was made at the initiative of Cheny dealt with various developments on the international arena, especially the situation in the region and the efforts exerted to this effect.
American diplomatic sources in al-Riyadh said that Cheney briefed the Saudi crown prince with the " efforts made by his country to halt blood-shed in the occupied Palestinian territories and the attempt to bring back the Palestinian and Israeli sides to the table of negotiations." The sources, which asked not to be identified, added that Cheney briefed crown prince Abdullah with the results of the US administration's talks with Sharon.
