Jordan-Israel, Economics, 2/11/2002
The Irbid joint industrial zone between Jordan and Israel has announced that its exports has increased by 30% in January, 2002 to reach USD 23.8 million.
The chairman of the area which is also known as al-Hassan zone, Maher al-Nasser said that the exports during the same period in 2001 reached USD 18.3 million.
He attributed the increase in the number to the increase in the exports of textiles to the US which imports 70% of the commodities produced in the area. Other commodities go to Israel, Britain and the Arab Gulf states. Al-Naser refused to identify these commodities.
