Six Algerians from one family assassinated by gunmen

An Algerian official source said on Sunday that six members from one family were killed and one woman was wounded on Saturday evening by an armed group men in Bouqra near Bufariq, in al- Mateika plain, 35 Km to the south of the capital Algiers.

This new crime came on the eve of killing Anatar al-Zawabri, the extremist among the leaders of the Algerian Armed Islamic Group.

The Algerian security forces announced the killing of al-Zawabri on Friday in the house of one of the terrorists at the hands of the security forces after they besieged the house sheltering in.

The commander of the first military district Maj. Gen. Fadel al-Sharif said that al-Zawabri was recognized by his imprints and the testimony of one of the detained terrorists who belongs to al-Zawabri organization.

The Algerian security department said in a statement issued on Sunday that gunmen also assassinated on Saturday one person in al-Hattabeyah area in Qasantinah province. The statement added that the army forces destroyed a laboratory for manufacturing " traditional" bombs in Bumerdas province during a mopping up operation carried out by the army forces since the beginning of last week, using helicopters to strike bombarded positions.

Number of persons killed in acts of violence in Algeria since the beginning of 2002 exceeds 210 including 60 gunmen..
