Government earnings in the Sultanate rose by 12,7%

"Government earnings in the Sultanate rose by 12,7% during the first eleven months of last year to RO. 2264,5 million against RO. 2009,9 million during the corresponding period in 2000," ONA reported today.

ONA said this rise is due to a 9% increased oil net revenues by the end of November last year to RO. 1718,7 million compared to RO. 1577,5 million during the same period in 2000, as well as a 32,3% rise in customs fees to RO. 50,6 million against RO. 38,2 million in 2000.

"Capital earnings also rose by 10,8% by the end of last November to RO. 7,2 million against to RO. 6,5 million in 2000. Other revenues also rose by 40,5% to RO. 408,8 million compared to RO. 290,9 million by the end of November 2000. Natural gas earrings fell by 26,4% to RO. 41,5 million compared to RO. 56,4 million in 2000. Government expenditure rose by 7,6% during the same period to RO. 2246,4 million against RO. 2086,9 million in 2000," ONA said.

The general budget saw a surplus of RO. 18,1 million during the first eleven months of last year compared to a deficit of RO. 77 million in 2000.
