Prisoner hunger strike in Kuwait
Kuwait, Local, 2/7/2002
The Kuwaiti daily al-Seyasah said in its Wednesday's issue that seven prisoners started a hunger strike in protest of being arrested since one year.
The paper quoted security sources as saying that the prisoners demanded that they be set free by a "guarantee" or to be expelled from the country.
The paper added that the prisoners also asked for visits by officials at the ministry of the interior in order to become acquainted with their complaints. It added that among the arrested persons are three Saudis, one Iraqi and other three who do not have an identity and that all of them are held in a prison dedicated to those who are yet "not- sentenced."
