Ruler of Bahrain: amended constitution very soon

The ruler of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Issa al-Khaleifa announced on Tuesday that the amended constitution might be issued as soon as possible in Bahrain.

News reports quoted Sheikh Hamad as saying in a speech he addressed on the occasion of the 34th anniversary of the foundation of the army in Bahrain " we are determined to issue constitutional amendments stated according to the charter which were completed under our supervision by the committee in charge and legal experts."

He added it has become possible to issue the amended constitution very soon and this is based on "our care to maintain rapidly the regular constitutional life and complete its new establishments."

The news reports also quoted a Bahraini official as saying that the constitutional amendments are in the process of final revision at the time being by the committee in charge of amending the constitution in Bahrain.
